Did you ever want the respect that comes with being viewed as a Phenom? Ever wonder what it would take to become one? The 10,000 rule coined by Malcolm Gladwell, states that in order to be considered a Phenom in any subject you must have had completed 10,000 hours in it. What this rule states basically eliminates natural talent as a cause to be a Phenom, leaving it solely to how much you are willing to work. Often times though we see others with natural talent and become discouraged. But if natural talent fails to work hard, hard work will beat natural talent.
How do you measure what a Phenom is? That’s the question
When can you say you have arrived at the status of being a Phenom? It can be based on others opinions, but on less definable things than sports that can be harder. How do you consider someone a Phenom in the field of medicine or in retail? At the end of the day only you can see the progress you have made in becoming your own Phenom, better than you were yesterday but still striving for better tomorrow. Focusing on someone else’s opinions or accolades in comparison to you, will only limit your ascent to becoming truly phenomenal in your purpose.
So to become a Phenom in your own right you must:
1. Work daily at your craft whatever it may be.
2. Only allow your standards of a Phenom, to be the definition you strive for
