We as humans always try to deem someone the greatest in anything. It stems from our constant need to compete with each other for supremacy. Michael Jordan is considered the greatest in basketball history. Known as a fierce competitor who wanted nothing more than to win. We as a society have deemed him the best there was and ever will be.
What does it mean to shoot your shot like Jordan?
Jordan always knew the ball would be in his hand when the game was on the line. And without a shadow of a doubt knew he could make the basket. Not only was he willing to put the pressure of taking the shot on himself. He was willing to put the pressure on himself knowing he could miss. The confidence in himself to constantly put himself in a situation like that, is one that would put confidence in others as well.
So how can you shoot your shot like Jordan?
Well the shot you need to be shooting is one that displays confidence in all that you do, the same confidence displayed by Jordan himself. The risk you are willing to take in your life is shooting just like Jordan. There’s so many risks to be taken. Let’s put out some examples: that person you have feelings for, the career path you want to take, the group you want to start to help someone, your YouTube channel or just a passion of yours.
There’s different things you would consider a risk to you. Insert those things in to the risks you can take in life. Now that you have the thought of those. What’s stopping you from having no fear and shooting your shot like Jordan? Those shots are what differentiates Michael Jordan from other athletes in basketball and what could possibly set you apart from your peers. Having the confidence to shoot your shots could really push you to another level of growth and success. For Jordan it won him 6 championships, for you it could mean having more influence, a promotion in the career you want or just a passion confirmed by those around you.
I understand that something like this sounds scary if you have never done it. But taking risks is the only way to succeed. You make 0 percent of the shots you take. We wouldn’t be talking about Jordan if he never took any of the shots that made him famous. And just like Jordan you can take the shot and miss, just like he did countless time but eventually you get one that will go in. And the thing about practice it only makes you better. So now it might take you 15 shots to make 1 basket. In the future it could take 10 and then 5, eventually until you get so good it only takes 1 shot to make 1 basket. The shots you take are the risks you take and not every single risk will pan out. But eventually you will get better at taking risks.
My departing words are take risks establish yourself and continue to succeed. Reach out to me if you need any help with gaining confidence to shoot your shot like Jordan.
