Everyone can’t make it

My last blog post I talked about purpose and to chase it no matter what. Maybe you started thinking about doing just that. However, I would be giving you bad advice if I didn’t let you know that it comes with a struggle. I believe that chasing your dreams is what adults do for fun after having to grow up and stop being impulsive. We can no longer be a kid and have fun at theme parks like Disney or be out late just to catch Pokémon. Once you enter serious adulthood, certain things just don’t bring the same level of fun. Chasing dreams is the most alive and free we can feel. But if chasing dreams comes with those feelings, why doesn’t everyone chases theirs? The answer is because it comes with so many risks. Risks such as being financially unstable, delay in seeing progress, or not having support because people don’t understand what you are pursuing. Sometimes you may be so deep in the process and forget what you are pursuing. You can become discouraged and want to quit because you forgot what your dreams are. These feelings will constantly attack you to get you to quit, however it’s important to fight them back because otherwise you will never achieve your dreams.

These are some steps to get you to remain on the path to your dreams:

1. Have a vision for your life written down and reread it to yourself when you forget what you are pursuing.

2. Take time away and relax away from the grind: it can be an hour, a morning, a day or a week depending on how stressed you are. (Remember to not let the break affect anything you may have planned already or imped any growth or opportunities. It’s meant to help you push further instead of set you back.)

3. Find some people who believe in you and keep them close to encourage you and be there for you when you need to breathe. (You will always find someone, you just have to open your eyes to see them.)
